Carly Rae Jepsen: "Supporting Justin Bieber was the ultimate experience"

Carly Rae Jepsen has described opening up for Justin Bieber as "the ultimate experience".

Bieber is something of a mentor for the former Canadian Idol contestant, with the 'Call Me Maybe' star also working with his manager Scooter Braun.

She has often supported the 'Boyfriend' man on tour and is one of the main acts on his current 'Believe' world tour.

Speaking to the Metro, Jepsen said that she always has a "great time" when opening for Bieber. She said:

"Opening for him was like the ultimate experience for my first big tour. It was exciting to be there and feel that energy when you walk on to the stage. I had a great time playing the songs with my band and dancing around."

Jepsen added that she was overwhelmed by Bieber's initial praise. Speaking about how people receive her music, she said:

"I've been amazed by the reaction. Katy Perry said she liked me, Justin Bieber's been one of my biggest supporters, which was a shock. I never expected him to tweet about me. I didn't expect the Cookie Monster on Sesame Street to like me. He did a version of 'Call Me Maybe'. It's been a cool year."
