Rita Ora: 'I felt like Princess Diana when I went back to Kosovo'

'R.I.P.' songstress Rita Ora has likened her experience of returning to Kosovo to shoot a music video to being treated like royalty.

Speaking exclusively to Dropout UK, Ora explained that when she went back to the country she was born in to film her 'Shine Ya Light' video people behaved as though she was the late Princess Diana:

"It was amazingly strange. It was such a bizarre experience kind of going there and everybody knowing your name and kind of looked at like Princess Diana almost."

"Because, you know, no one's ever achieved anything out of Kosovo before. So to be the first... to even be sitting here being interviewed by you guys and you guys being interested in me. For them it's a huge fascination to be doing something out of Kosovo."

She added that while she wasn't initially concerned if the country would be receptive towards her music, it did cross her mind when she visited the area:

"I didn't think that far ahead when I was making my music. I didn't think, 'would Kosovo approve?'. I was just thinking to myself, 'this is a tune!'. I guess if you really love someone for who they are regardless you're going to really support them, and that's what they have done."
