Mindy McCready tributes pour in

LeAnn Rimes and Carrie Underwood have paid tribute to late country songstress Mindy McCready.

The star, whose hits include 'Guys Do It All The Time', was aged 37 when she passed away on Sunday (February 17).

Police confirmed her body was found in the front porch of her Arkansas home after reports of gunfire.

A statement from Cleburne County sheriff's office read: "Ms McCready was pronounced dead at the scene from what appears to be a single self-inflicted gunshot wound. At this time family members have been notified of the incident."

A host of stars have paid their respects on Twitter, with fellow country singers Rimes and Underwood leading the tributes.

Rimes wrote: "My heart goes out to Mindy McCready's family. I knew her well. It's a horribly tragedy. May peace be with her son's (sic)," while Underwood posted on the social networking site: "I grew up listening to Mindy McCready... so sad for her family tonight. Many prayers are going out to them..."

McCready's ex-partner Billy McKnight - who has six-year-old son Zander with the late musician -  admitted on the Today show earlier that her death didn't come as "a major shock".

"She's just been battling demons for so long. I was around her when she attempted suicide twice, so I knew it was in her."
