Ben Howard scoops double BRITs win

Ben Howard has won his second Brit Awards for 'Best British Male Solo Artist'.

The singer-songwriter was up against Calvin Harris, Plan B, Richard Hawley and former X Factor finalist Olly Murs in the coveted category.

Howard was presented the award by last year's winner Ed Sheeran, and was overwhelmed by the honour.

Taking to the stage the star said: "Thank you very much. That's bizarre isn't it. I was quite stocked to come to awards so to come away with two BRITs is amazing."

Howard was awarded the 'Best British Breakthrough Act' earlier on in the show.

Meanwhile, Lana Del Rey was awarded the gong for 'International Female Solo Artist' at the BRIT Awards.

The singer was presented the statue by Dermot O'Leary and Sharon Osbourne.

Taking to the stage, the star said: "Thank you so much. I'm honoured."

Del Rey beat off competition from some of pop's biggest names Rihanna, Alicia Keys and Taylor Swift.
