Fearne Cotton has confirmed that she has given birth to her first child.

The 31-year-old media personality and her partner Jesse Wood welcomed son Rex into the world today (February 21).

The prominent BBC Radio DJ confirmed the birth on Twitter, revealing her happiness and joy at the good news. She said:

"Jesse and I are over the moon to announce the arrival of Rex Rayne Wood born on the 21.2.13. Beyond in love."

TV star Holly Willoughby said on Twitter: "Hooray! @Fearnecotton congratulations on baby Rex!!!!! Can not wait to meet your little man....love you! Xxx."

Fellow BBC Radio personality Lauren Laverne meanwhile said: "AMAZING NEWS! Congratulations to all of you (especially you). And love, luck & happiness always. XXX."
