Lindsay Lohan loses Pitbull lyric lawsuit

A lawsuit launched by Lindsay Lohan that claimed Pitbull unfairly used her name in a song has been thrown out of court.

The actress sued the music star in 2011 over his track 'Give Me Everything', which features the lyric:

"I got it locked up like Lindsay Lohan."

She claimed that she should be entitled to a percentage of profits made from the song, alleging that she never gave Pitbull permission to use her name.

However, TMZ reports that a New York judge threw out the case yesterday (February 21) on the grounds that because the song is a work of art, it is protected under the First Amendment to the United States Constitution.

The judge also dismissed claims from Lohan that she had been emotionally distressed as a result of the lyric.
