Bruno Mars: 'Sex is a great party starter'

Singer-songwriter Bruno Mars has revealed that he loves to write about love and sex because they're both things that put the listener in a feisty 'frame of mind'.

During an interview with GQ magazine, the 'Locked Out Of Heaven' hitmaker explained that penning tracks about sex tends to have a great effect and as a subject, it's a "great party starter":

"It feels good to sing about. It feels…sexy. It puts you in a sexy frame of mind. It feels good to project. Sex is a great party starter."

Referring to a song on his new album called 'Gorilla', in which he sings about 'animalistic sex'', Mars added: "It was just painting a picture - some animalistic sex. Instead of me singing 'You and me having animalistic sex' - which is a terrible lyric."

Along with discussing his songwriting, the superstar also spoke about his 2010 arrest for cocaine possession and admitted that he doesn't know why he initially lied to police about it being his first time using drugs:

"I don't know where that came from. I was really intoxicated. I was really drunk. So a lot of that is a big blur, and I try every day to forget and keep pushing."
