Singer and television personality Kerry Katona has revealed that the only reason she has a rocky relationship with ex-husband Brian McFadden is because his children come second to him when he has other things going on.

Speaking to Love It! magazine, Katona explained that his daughters, Molly, 11, and Lilly-Sue, 10, take a backseat to his girlfriend at the time and it bothers her that he can't be around for them more:

"He makes out like I'm jealous of his relationships, but I've done nothing but wish Brian and Vogue a lifetime of happiness. What pisses me off is that when he does fall in love, the kids come second. And that's why I think he's a w**ker. It's not because he's in love – everyone deserves to be happy – it's because he doesn't see the kids as much as I'd like."

When asked how their relationship is now that McFadden is married to Vogue Williams, Katona added that he usually makes the first move to contact her and it's often out of the blue: "I suffered so much when we divorced, but then I got over it and never once contacted him."

"After he split with Delta, I was on a plane with my best friend, Danielle Brown, when I got a text, completely out of the blue, from him asking if I fancied going for tea with the kids. I was like: 'F**king hell, it's Brian, Danielle'."

"I texted back saying: 'The girls would love that'. He made a few jokes. I texted to tell him Molly had got 92 per cent in one of her exams and he joked that she was far too brainy to be our child. I'm more angry and disappointed than anything. He knows nothing about my life. It's been nine years – he's a virtual stranger."
