American woman arrested for assaulting boyfriend over Macklemore's 'Thrift Shop' song

A woman in America was arrested over the weekend after pushing and choking her boyfriend, who refused to stop rapping along to 'Thrift Shop' by hitmaker Macklemore.

Samantha Malson, from Longmont in Colorado, confessed to the assault after police were called to a domestic disturbance report at her home in the area on Saturday, April 6.

She explained that her partner, Lars Hansen, sang the song '25 times in a row' and despite asking him to stop every time, her wished went unnoticed so she "pushed him" and "grabbed him around the throat". 23-year-old Malson later explained that she "did it for intimidation".

The Boulder County Sherriff's Office report states that she was charged with harassment, domestic violence and assault, and that both Malson and Hansen were drunk at the time.
