Carly Rae Jepsen reveals family reaction to Minaj remix

Carly Rae Jepsen's family were like "loud Italians" when they first heard her remix with Nicki Minaj.

The Canadian singer has teamed up with Minaj on new single 'Tonight I’m Getting Over You.' The 'Starships' rapper featured on a verse on Jepsen's track, which leaked onto the internet earlier this week.

Jepsen revealed her family were probably a bit too excited to listen to the single - which is due for release later this month.

Speaking to Radio.com about playing the track to her family, the star giggled: “I was home in Vancouver with my whole family when I received it in my inbox. And I [was] like ‘Alright, should we all listen together?’ And, I’m not kidding, my grandparents, my aunts and uncles — everyone was there.

She added: "I brought it down to the living room and we put it on and everyone — I have step parents as well, so it was like loud Italians — so no one could hear anything.”

Jepsen also revealed what her family thought of the new track.

She said: “When it was done, my brother shouts, ‘I love it!’ And my grandmother was like, ‘What did she say?’ ‘I have no idea, but it was great!’ And so we had to listen like three more times before we could understand it.”
