Former 'X Factor' finalist Amelia Lily has opened up about rubbing shoulders with other music stars and joked about the nature of her relationship with One Direction's Niall Horan.

Talking to Yahoo! OMG, the 'Party Over' songstress explained that she's good pals with One Direction and confessed that while she's only "met them three or four times", the rumour mill went into overload when she struck up a friendship with the Irish heartthrob:

"The thing is, right, I don't think there's any possible way I could date a One Direction boy because I'd get so much hatred and I don't think I could deal with that."

"I think it's funny how you can say hello to someone and then a week later, "Oh my god, Amelia's dating Niall!". People clearly thought there was something going on, but there wasn't. Sorry to disappoint everyone!"

Lily's forthcoming debut album, entitled 'Be A Fighter', has been delayed yet again and is now set for a release date of July 29 via Sony Records.
