Prince gives rare interview: 'I don't have time for old people, I want to work with young artists'

'Raspberry Beret' icon Prince has given a rare interview in which he confessed that working with the greats has no appeal to him whatsoever as they have 'had their day'.

Speaking to his hometown newspaper, The Minneapolis Star Tribune, Prince explained that he wants to pave the way for young artists as he finds them more exciting:

"I don’t have time for old people, I want to work with young people.”

Referring to his new backing band, 3rdEyeGirl, he added that now is the time to let them have their moment: "I have my legacy, now it’s time for their legacy. They’re a Minneapolis band, too.”

Prince, meanwhile, has just finished a headlining North American tour and will perform next in July when he travels to Montreux.
