Cher performs live for New York's Gay Pride Week

Cher performed live last night (June 28) at New York’s Marquee as part of Gay Pride Week.

Taking to the stage at 2am Cher greeted the crowd by saying: “It’s good to be back in New York, since it was my home for a long time.”

The ‘If I Could Turn Back Time’ superstar interacted with her audience frequently throughout the show.

At one point she told the crowd: “My first gay friend was when I was 9 years old — and I said this on Twitter — but I thought gay was a code word for fun.”

Later on in her set she took the time to thank her gay fans for their continued support throughout her career.

Cher stated: “I have had ups and downs in my career, and you guys have never left me. I was out, I was uncool, I was a has-been…  You guys have always been there… You’ve kept me in sequins.”

Away from the stage Cher has been opening up about her love life.

In an interview with Watch What Happens Live, when asked if she had ever slept with women the ‘Believe’ singer replied: “Oh god, who hasn’t?”

The 67-year-old starlet also spoke about her 1980s relationship with actor Tom Cruise.

On the pair’s romance Cher reflected: "It was pretty hot and heavy for a little minute. He’s a great guy. The person that I knew was a great and lovable guy."

When requested to rank Cruise as a lover Cher responded: "He was in the top five.”

Lady Gaga also made an appearance at New York's Gay Pride last night.

London's Pride Parade takes place today (June 29) in central London.
