Louis Walsh: "X Factor has no competition"

Louis Walsh believes shows like The Voice don't come close to rivalling the X Factor.

The Irish manager has been a judge on the ITV talent show since its first series in 2004 and he told Digital Spy that no other programmes compete with the X Factor.

The Voice UK was launched in 2011 but it so far has failed to make an impact, with its first winner Leanne Mitchell hitting No.134 in the charts with her debut album.

Speaking about the X Factor, Walsh commented:

"It's the biggest and best show in town. It kills the competition. We don't have competition. It's Britain's Got Talent and The X Factor."

Referring meanwhile to The Voice, Walsh added: "They've never had a star. The idea [with these shows] is to find a star that has a career. They've never done that."
