Robin Thicke tops UK album chart

Following on from Robin Thicke’s dominance of the UK singles chart he has gone on to have his album ‘Blurred Lines’ go straight to the top of the album chart.

‘Blurred Lines’ is the Canadian singer’s sixth album and has displaced Jay Z’s ‘Magna Carta Holy Grail’ from the No. 1 spot as the rapper’s LP has fallen one place to No. 2.

Thicke’s last album to chart in the UK was 2008’s ‘Something Else’ which reached No. 83. 2006’s ‘The Evolution of Robin Thicke’ fared better by charting at No. 30.

Thicke beat the Pet Shop Boys’ ‘Electric’ in their sales race as 'Electric' debuted at No. 3.

Elsewhere in the chart Rod Stewart's 'Time' dropped two spots to No. 4 and Passenger's 'All The Little Lights' also slipped a couple of places down to No. 5.
