Avicii's 'Wake Me Up' reaches No. 1 in UK singles chart

‘Wake Me Up’ by Avicii has claimed the No. 1 spot in the UK singles chart.

The track is the second chart topping single for the Swedish DJ and producer as ‘I Could Be The One’ also hit No. 1 back in February.

Last week’s top seller, ‘Blurred Lines’ by Robin Thicke has dropped one place to No. 2.

Elsewhere in the top ten Naughty Boy’s ‘La La La’ rose one spot to No. 6. There were also new entries at No. 8 by Selena Gomez with ‘Come & Get It’ and at No. 9 by Breach with ‘Jack’. Plus a couple of non-movers from Icona Pop with ‘I Love It’ at No. 4 and will.i.am’s  ‘Bang Bang’ at No. 5.

This week saw Daft Punk’s ‘Get Lucky’ drop out of the top ten for the first time in 14 weeks to No. 11.

Chart climbers this week come from Jay Z and Justin Timberlake’s ‘Holy Grail’ up 9 to No. 15, P!nk featuring Lily Allen on ‘True Love’ up 14 to No. 22 and Calvin Harris and Ayah Marar with ‘Thinking About You’ up 21 places to No. 28,

New chart entries include Avril Lavigne’s ‘Here’s To Never Growing Up’ in at No. 14, X Factor’s Lucy Spraggan with ‘Lighthouse’ at No. 26 and Kings of Leon’s ‘Supersoaker’ at No. 32.
