Nicole Scherzinger has admitted that she would probably be more successful if she was more overtly raunchy.

The singer often cuts a sultry figure, but she told the Indepedent that she thinks her solo career would be more promising if she was "slutty".

The singing star is due to release her second album later this year and Scherzinger said that any glamour she does exude comes from pure "fun". The X Factor judge said:

"I don't feel I have to justify myself to anyone. I come from the most religious family - my grandfather is a priest - and if they support me in all this, and they do, then I'm OK."

She continued: "I'm being sassy and classy; I'm having fun. I'm not coming from a dark place. To be honest with you, I sometimes wish I were more slutty. I'd probably be a lot more successful if I were."
