Robbie Williams stays at the top of the UK album chart for another week

Robbie Williams has fought off tough competition from One Direction to remain at the top of the UK album chart for yet another week.

Williams’ ‘Swings Both Ways’ has won the tight race with One Direction’s ‘Midnight Memories’ to be named the UK’s No. 1 Christmas album. It was a close call as less than 200 units separated the two albums from the top spot.

This week’s top five in the album chart is made up entirely by non-movers with all of last week’s records remaining stead-fast in their positions with One Direction at No. 2, Gary Barlow’s ‘Since I Saw You Last’ at No. 3, Olly Murs’ ‘Right Place Right Time’ at No. 4 and Beyoncé’s self-titled LP at No. 5.

The highest climbing album this week comes from The Killers with their best of collection ‘Direct Hits’ rising 15 places to reach No. 10.
