Shawn Mendes on new album: 'It'll do damage in a good way'

'Stitches' hitmaker Shawn Mendes has revealed that his forthcoming and highly anticipated new album will "do damage in a good way" when it's finally released.

During a chat with The Canadian Press, the heartthrob confessed that the process is almost finished and he thinks fans will love it:

"The album is pretty much finished now. The new single "Treat You Better" is great, but that's just a little taste of where all the new music is going. That one is the poppiest song. (The album) is going to be more a soulful vibe — a lot more electric guitar-based. I think it's going to do damage in a good way."

Last week, Mendes told ET Canada that he's very excited for the future

"I'm so excited about it, even the next couple of singles coming up, I get goosebumps just thinking about it and, like, where the future's headed. As an artist and a creator of music, I'm very proud of my work. I'm very picky."
