Taylor Swift breaks digital sales record with new single

Following Taylor Swift's recent announcement about her forthcoming new album, 'Red', the cut's lead single has broken an impressive record.

'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' shifted a phenomenal 623,000 copies in the week ending August 19 and this figure has landed her the record of having the biggest digital sales week ever for a song by a woman.

In addition to this fantastic feat, the song has now had the second-largest digital sales week overall according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Writing on her official Twitter page earlier today (August 22), Swift thanked her fans for getting the track to No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart: #1 on Billboard's Hot 100!!?!
