Taylor Swift reveals nerves ahead of her MTV VMAs performance

American beauty Taylor Swift has admitted that she feels incredibly anxious about her upcoming live performance at MTV's Video Music Awards because there will be a "world of music fans" watching.

Speaking to MTV News about her impending set, the country-pop sensation explained that it's a high-pressure situation especially with the immediate success of her new single, 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together':

"You get really nervous. It's a mixture of all these emotions of excitement of nerves of planning, of making sure that you have enough rehearsal time. You have to make sure that you are ready to go onstage and face the entire world of music fans that are watching that show."

When asked what kind of thoughts run through her head before an appearance as big as the one she's scheduled for on September 6, Swift revealed that she fears 'messing up' because there is always the risk of ruining a strong reputation with just one bad performance:

"Do not mess this up everything will come crashing down if you mess it up. It's a little more intense and the voice is a little meaner, but that's basically what happens. I get nervous — really, really, really nervous." Watch her new music video for 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' below:
