The Wanted on the meaning of 'Chasing The Sun'

The Wanted have opened up about the meaning behind their hit track 'Chasing The Sun'.

The band's song has enjoyed a renaissance in recent days after they released a new video for the track's appearance in film Ice Age 4.

Speaking to MTV News, Jay McGuiness said that the song can mean "many things", with a lot of people thinking it is about "partying all night".

However, there is an underlying metaphor of "chasing your dreams". He said:

"I think this song, it can mean many things. To some people, it is partying all night and chasing the sun the next morning. That's what the first video is about - the girls, the teeth are there, the vampires."

He continued: "So we're all there partying away. And that's one aspect of the song. Another aspect of the song is chasing your dreams, the unattainable acorn in the distance."
