OneRepublic on course for No.1 single with 'Counting Stars'

Hitmakers OneRepublic are leading the midweek singles chart race today (October 16) with their brand new offering, 'Counting Stars'.

The Official Charts Company has confirmed that there are only 4,000 copies separating this week's Top 3, which is also made up from Miley Cyrus with 'Wrecking Ball' at No.2 and Lawson's new entry at 3 with 'Juliet'

OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder explained that this midway success is fantastic: “It’s all a bit surreal. This is the highlight of the year, it’s by far the coolest thing that’s happened to us in recent memory!”

Elsewhere on the UK Top 40, Iggy Azalea has made an impressive appearance at No.8 with 'Change Your Life', Justin Bieber's 'All That Matters' has debuted at No.10, and Eminem's 'Rap God' is currently sitting at No.13.

The official positions will be confirmed this coming Sunday, on October 20 during the BBC Radio 1 UK Top 40 announcement.
