Rap heavyweight 50 Cent is celebrating his 37th birthday by giving away his new album for free.

The 'In Da Club' hitmaker took to social networking site Twitter last night (July 4) and explained to his followers that his latest musical project, entitled '5 (Murder by Numbers)', will be made available as a free download:

"Try to avoid negative people today.my birthday is the day after tomorrow. I'm celebrating already :o) I'm listening to album 5 this joint banging. I'm giving it away as a birthday present to my self cool right?"

He has since clarified that his highly anticipated new studio album, 'Street King Immortal', is due to be released in November through Interscope following an almost year-long delay:

"You can't buy album 5 it's FREE street king immortal will be for sale. My official Interscope album is called STREET KING IMMORTAL due out in nov (sic)."
