5SOS's Ashton on recording: 'My heart and soul is going into this album'

The 5 Seconds Of Summer hitmakers are currently working on the follow-up offering to their self-titled 2014 debut album and they are really excited about the progress they're making.

Last week, heartthrob Ashton Irwin confessed that he and the other 5SOS lads are 'digging deep' for this upcoming new record and he has now gone one step further in explaining just how much of himself he is putting into the project.

The drummer tweeted (April 6): "BIG weekend of recording!!! Loved it! Every smack of the drum has my heart and soul in it! Arms feel like they're gonna fall off... Goodnight!"

On April 4, meanwhile, frontman Luke Hemmings gave a little insight into his perspective on the creative process and posted the following message to his own social media page: "Put everything into this next album."

As previously reported, Ashton Irwin recently opened up about Zayn Malik's departure from One Direction and admitted that he would be heartbroken if one of his bandmates decided to quit the group

"I heard about that and I was at rehearsal and I was looking at these dudes and, man, I’d be devastated if someone left our band, you know? I can’t imagine how the other dudes feel. And I wish him all the best. I hope… if that’s a choice he wanted to make, you know? I hope everything goes well."
