Alexandra Burke can't wait to share her diverse new album

As the release date for her new single edges closer, Alexandra Burke has been teasing fans with a few new details about her forthcoming album and explained that "everyone will be able to relate".

'Elephant', her highly anticipated and continually delayed new single, will be available to download from March 11 and she spoke to Digital Spy about the record it will feature on saying that the new offering will reflect her personality and passions:

"I'm the girl who is positive, loves life, loves to go out, loves to have a bit of a boogie - and that's what I want my album to portray. It's going to make you want to get up and dance. It's colourful, it's loud, it's bright - it's everything my personality is and more!"

"There are some serious songs on there, but at the same time there are silly songs - they'll not just make you feel it, they'll make you get up and go out for a great night out. I feel like everyone will be able to relate. Everyone has been through something in relationships; whether it be with a loved one, a partner or family members where something needs to be discussed - and I've been through that situation."

Referring to her upcoming single, Burke added: "The saying, 'There's an elephant in the room' is very, very American. But I want to be the person that brings that saying over here to make it a little bit more UK."

She also tweeted a message to her followers last night to tell them how the rehearsal of 'Elephant' went as she is due to perform it at the Tickled Pink event tomorrow (January 12): "First rehearsal for Elephant done! Wow. It was hard core. I have no more words. Dammmmmmn."
