Songwriter Jamie Scott opens up on relationship with One DirectionSongwriter Jamie Scott has spoken about his working relationship with One Direction. The musician has helped to write a number of the band's hits, including 'Midnight Memories' and 'Story of My Life'. Speaking to the Guardian in a feature about songwriters, Scott said that he has developed a strong bond with One Direction since contributing to their 2011 debut album 'Up All Night'. He said: "I feel like I can say whatever I want to the boys and they’re not going to take offence. "That’s invaluable.' Ruth-Anne Cunningham, who worked with One Direction on their 2014 record 'FOUR', added: "I won’t have [any artists] in a room that isn’t contributing to the song. Anyone can say anything that can shift a song’s direction. Even the people who don’t really come up with ideas but know when something is right are important.
