The One Direction heartthrobs are due to perform tomorrow night (September 6) at MTV's Video Music Awards and shared a snapshot from their rehearsal earlier today with their fans.

Writing on the group's official Twitter page this afternoon, they explained that they're hard at work preparing for their upcoming live set and gave their 6.3 million followers a behind-the-scenes look at what they're up to:

"Started rehearsing for VMA’s! hope you all like the performance! x"

Member Niall Horan also posted a message about the awards ceremony via his personal Twitter account and wrote: "Great to be back in LA. VMA’s will be sick! Such a huge line-up. Also proud to say we will be adding a 3rd LA show on our tour next year!"

Louis Tomlinson also urged his own fans to cast last-minute votes as One Direction have been nominated for both Best Pop Video and Best New Artist categories: "Lets do this together :) please vote for us for best video and best new artist :) It would mean the world to win :)"
