One Direction want to perform on the X Factor

One Direction have expressed their desire to perform again on the X Factor.

The boyband were pieced together from five solo contestants on the show back in 2010 before finishing the series in third place behind Rebecca Ferguson and winner Matt Cardle.

The group, of course, went on to achieve global success and they are due to release their second album 'Take Me Home' on November 12.

One Direction returned to the X Factor on Saturday (October 6) for a quick interview with host Dermot O'Leary.

Louis Tomlinson told The Sun, however, that the band want to visit the show again before the year is out to perform live. The 'One Thing' star said:

"It's really weird being back on the X Factor stage. Walking through those doors always made us nervous and it kinda feels like you're back in the competition."

He continued: "Being interviewed by Dermot O'Leary brings all the old nerves back. We would love to come back and perform before Christmas. The X Factor is our home and we love it."
