One Direction waxwork sculptor opens up on working with the band

A Madame Tussauds sculptor who helped create the new One Direction waxwork models has revealed what it was like to work with the band.

As previously reported, the popular group recently unveiled five lifelike models in London after weeks of teasing.

Speaking to heat magazine, Georgina Power - who made the Louis Tomlinson figure - said that she hopes the group like their waxworks. She said:

"It's always a challenge to capture a person’s 'essence', to make sure that more than just a likeness, we capture a person's personality in their expression. We knew throughout that these figures would be very closely scrutinised by their legion of loyal fans, who know the boys very well. The challenge here is making sure they're happy with the result, and we hope they will be."

When asked which member of One Direction had the most symmetrical face, Power replied coyly: "Interestingly, all attractive people tend to have symmetrical faces – or 'even' features. All of the boys fit this description, plus they all have slightly crooked smiles, another feature considered particularly attractive."

The waxworks meanwhile are on show in London before travelling to New York and Sydney.
