Selena Gomez has revealed that she will speak from the heart on her new album.

The singer and actress is widely reported to have recently split from boyfriend Justin Bieber, although no official confirmation has yet been forthcoming.

Speaking to MTV News, Gomez said that there has indeed been a "big turn" in her life, stating that she will open up about it on her new album. She said:

"I think for me it was actually interesting to see that towards the middle of me recording my record, a big turn happened to me and it was incredible to see how I applied that to music because I've never done that before and it's great. I think the older I'm getting the more I'm just kind of like I'm cool to share my side of the stories as much as I can, so I'm having a lot of fun."

She added: "Through [the film] 'Spring Breakers' and experiencing so much last year it will be interesting to kind of have my fans know everything I went through, through music."

Gomez's new album is expected to land in March and will mark the follow-up to her 2011 effort 'When The Sun Goes Down'.
