The Vamps' James McVey admits he can be "petrified" by overcrowded signings

The Vamps guitarist James McVey has admitted that mobbed signing events can often scare him.

The band are currently rubbing shoulders with fans across the country as they promote their debut album 'Meet The Vamps'.

Their signing at Claire's Accessories at London's Oxford Street on Thursday (April 17), however, was threatened with closure due to the amount of fans waiting outside.

Speaking to the Mirror before that meet and greet, McVey said:

"We love meeting fans, but sometimes I’m petrified about not knowing what to expect when you walk out the door at big signing events.

“The other day the screams were so loud they made me feel a bit sick."

'Meet The Vamps' meanwhile reached No.2 on the Official Charts Company's UK midweek update.
