Chris Brown has been cleared of charges relating to an alleged hit-and-run incident.

The singer had pleaded not guilty to giving false insurance information and refusing to hand over his licence following a crash earlier this year.

The incident happened in May in California when Brown hit a Mercedes with his Range Rover.

The case's judge said that the singer and the female whose car was hit had reached an agreement.

Brown was on probation at the time of the crash for assaulting Rihanna in 2009 and reportedly could have faced up to four years in jail for the hit-and-run charges if found guilty.
