Jason Derulo pens track about a stalker

Singing sensation Jason Derulo has revealed that one of the tracks on his new sophomore album is about a personal experience with a stalker.

The song, aptly entitled 'Be Careful', was inspired by real and very unnerving events that happened to the superstar and he explained the situation to BBC's Newsbeat:

"All kinds of songs on there about a stalker I had - a stalking situation - it's pretty interesting, you've gotta listen to that song, it's called 'Be Careful."

"It was a situation that just started as a social thing and it just escalated you know to her following me around the world and just all kinds of stuff. The song will take you step by step through the whole situation, it was definitely a mess. It's resolved yeah...as much as it could be."

He also admitted that songwriting can be cathartic and said, "it's also a relief and an escape. Just because I'm down doesn't mean I have to make a song that's also in that vein."
