Jason Derulo: 'Fracturing my neck was a life-changing experience'

'Ridin' Solo' hitmaker Jason Derulo has revealed that fracturing his neck last year taught him a lot about recovery and being able to move on.

Speaking to Britain's Daily Star newspaper, the singer explained that just before the accident he was preparing for his world tour and was going through a series of intense rehearsals because he had big ambitions for the run of shows:

"I wanted to take it to the next level, so I was training like crazy. I'd have eight-hour rehearsals. Day after day I was rehearsing like crazy and eventually I got it. "

He confessed that following the year off he was forced to take, he's feeling better than ever and wants to show people how he managed to overcome such a serious condition and hopes it will inspire fans: "I'm fitter than ever. It was the opposite of what you think somebody should do a year after suffering a neck fracture."

"But I wanted to show how someone can have something like that and carry on. I'm coming off a huge- life-changing experience. I wouldn't have traded the experience for the world, it made me a better man."

His new single will be 'The Other Side' and you can see the offering's official artwork below.
