Kelly Clarkson's new album faces delay

Kelly Clarkson, who has been recently revealing information on her forthcoming album to fans on social networking sites, has announced that the record is now facing a delay.

Writing to followers on Facebook late last night, March 15, the 'Because Of You' singer explained that her record label is putting a hold on releasing the collection of songs that she recently finished:

"I recently found out that my album won't be coming out until September ....the album has been recorded but I can't release it until then. I realize that is a long time but that's the best time to release it apparently so I'm sorry for the wait but I promise you it sounds great!"

Back in February, the star revealed a string of eclectic influences that shaped this upcoming record:

"This album was influenced by Prince, Tina Turner, Sheryl Crow, Radiohead and there's a little bit of a Country vibe/influence on a couple of songs."
