Kaiser Chiefs top UK albums chart with 'Education, Education, Education & War'

Kaiser Chiefs have gone straight in at No. 1 on the UK albums chart with their latest LP ‘Education, Education, Education & War’.

'Education, Education, Education & War' is the Kaiser Chiefs fifth album and their second to top the UK chart with ‘Yours Truly, The Angry Mob’ going to No. 1 in 2007.

It was a close call between the Kaiser Chiefs and last week’s No. 1 album from Sam Bailey for the top spot. There were just 44 sales between them on Friday (April 4) but ‘Education, Education, Education & War’ has ended up almost 2000 copies ahead.

Sam Bailey’s ‘The Power of Love’ now sits at No. 2.

The rest of this week’s top five consists of George Michael’s ‘Symphonica’ slipping one place to No. 3, Johnny Cash is new in at No. 4 with ‘Out Among The Stars’ – an album made up of recently discovered recordings from the 1980s – and John Legend’s ‘Love In The Future’ is a non-mover at No. 5.

Besides Kaiser Chiefs and Johnny Cash, other new entries to this week’s album chart come from Christina Perri with ‘Head Or Heart’ at No. 8, Steel Panther’s ‘All You Can Eat’ at No. 12 and ‘Himalayan’ at No. 12 from Band Of Skulls.
