The Vamps named MTV's Artists To Watch and announce New York concert

British heartthrobs The Vamps have revealed that MTV has named them 'Artists To Watch' and they will play an exciting show in New York City in honour of the title.

Writing on their collective Twitter account last night, The Vamps explained that they had a special announcement to make about a concert in New York that will take place next month: "Big news coming soon about a very special show in NYC on June 15th..."

The lads then returned to the social networking site later on and revealed that they have been named MTV's Artists To Watch and will perform a one-off gig to celebrate at the Highline Ballroom in Manhattan soon: "Proud to be the new #MTVATW. Playing @MTV show next month in NYC. Pre sale code: MTVATW14Vamps."

They also made their acting debut on British soap opera 'Hollyoaks' last night and member Connor Ball, who plays bass in the band, took to his Twitter page after the episode's broadcast and joked: "I'm an awful actor."
