5SOS: 'We love putting our own stamp on songs when we cover them'

'She Looks So Perfect' hitmakers 5 Seconds Of Summer have revealed that they love to perform their own renditions of famous songs because they like to tweak the tracks and make them their own.

During a new interview with Digital Spy, the boys confessed that covering other bands' songs is something they all enjoy because they love to put 'their own spin' on things. Calum Hood explained:

"We really like taking songs and putting our own spin on it. We also covered an old rock song called 'What I Like About You' by The Romantics and we just like putting our 5SOS stamp on it."

Luke Hemmings then admitted it's important to cover tracks their audience will be familiar with so they keep that in mind when planning set lists: "At Wembley not everyone's gonna know us, obviously, so we played a song where everyone knows that song [Katy Perry's 'Teenage Dream']."

They also likened themselves and their different personalities to members of the Spice Girls, with Hemmings adding: "Calum's Sporty Spice, I'm Baby Spice, Michael's Posh Spice and Ashton's Scary Spice - he's just a scary guy. He's very muscular."
