Canadian sensation Shawn Mendes was honoured at this year's Canada's Walk of Fame with the Allan Slaight Award and he has revealed that being recognised in such a way was amazing. 

During an interview with Entertainment Tonight recently, the star explained that he feels honoured and proud: "Incredible... really, really great. It's so much harder to perform in front of an intimate group of people than it is to perform in front of 60,000 people. Especially when they're talking about how awesome you are and they've made a video about it!"

When asked how he's finding his incredible rise to fame so far, the young star admitted that it's a huge lifestyle change, but he likes it: "I'm enjoying it, definitely. It's not very easy to explain, either, especially when it's so drastic... it was a big jump, you know, there wasn't much of a build up, but it has been wonderful!"

He went onto confess that his parents also didn't expect his career to skyrocket in the way that it has: "I mean, it's very new to them - as much as it is to me. I don't think they expected anything like this would ever happen."
