Example on Coldplay inspiration

Rapper Example has revealed that his new album takes influence from the unlikely sources of Coldplay and Snow Patrol.

Example – real name Elliot Gleave – has recently teamed up with Robbie Williams producer and writer, Guy Chambers, and says of the new record:  “I’ve approached the new songs more like a band, like a Coldplay or Snow Patrol album.”

He added to the Daily Star: “Every song is going to be a lot more epic, and while it’s gonna be poppy in the sense that it’s really catchy, I haven’t written it as a typical pop album. Song structures are a bit all over the place and all the lyrics are a lot darker, so it’s more grown up.

“It’s all about f***ed up love, messed up relationships and when you’re feeling low and looking at the dark side of it all.”
