Fenech-Soler frontman diagnosed with cancerFenech-Soler have been forced to cancel their forthcoming UK tour dates after the band's singer was diagnosed with testicular cancer. Ben Duffy, the frontman, will have chemotherapy to treat his condition and issued a statement to fans that said: "The diagnosis has been a big shock for all of us but on the positive side it has been caught very early and the recovery rate for this type of cancer is extremely high," He also added that because it was caught early, he expects to be "fighting fit" and to reschedule the cancelled dates as soon as this autumn: "Everyone is very upbeat that I will be fighting fit again in a couple of months. We just want to ask our fans to bear with us while I have treatment and recover. I can't wait to get back on stage and continue with what has been an amazing last year for us." The band also wrote to fans on their official website, and explained the scheduled festivals should go ahead as planned: "The doctors have reassured us that Ben will be fighting fit and ready to play a full set of summer festivals with the list already including Lovebox, Bestival, Camp Bestival, Parklife, Ibiza Rocks, Pukkelpop and Oxegen." The band will donate the proceeds of their next single, 'Stop And Stare', which is out on April 18, to the Teenage Cancer Trust and you can watch the promotional video for it here:
