James Morrison almost turned down Jessie J collaboration

Singer James Morrison almost turned down the opportunity to collaborate with Jessie J after his last duet, with Nelly Furtado on 'Broken Strings', took him "on a road I didn't want to go down".

The 'You Give Me Something' star recently revealed to The Sun newspaper that while teaming up with other artists is great for exposure and expanding a pre-existing fan base it can alter people's perception of your sound and style, and because of this he was originally against working with the 'Price Tag' hitmaker.

However, after much thought Morrison gave in and used Jessie J's vocals on a personal track called 'Up' that he wrote about his late father:

"I started to think about it and came round to the idea. I want my fans to have their own feelings for that song, not just think it's about my dad. Jessie's an amazing singer. This really shows off her vocals."
