Sam and the Womp set to topple Rita Ora from No.1 position

The midweek chart update has given the UK a brand new No.1 single in the form of 'Bom Bom' from colourful group, Sam and the Womp.

'Bom Bom', which has been used during the Olympics and for a Southern Comfort television commercial, has shot into the top spot today (August 22) knocking Rita Ora's 'How We Do (Party)' down a place to No.2.

There are 2 other new entries in the Top 10 this afternoon from Taylor Swift with 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' at 6 and Devlin's 'Watchtower', which also features Ed Sheeran, at No.5.

Angel's 'Wonderful' has climbed to No.10 following the announcement that he will be supporting One Direction at their iTunes Festival date, pop-punkers Simple Plan have made an appearance at No.11 with 'Summer Paradise', and Cheryl Cole's 'Under The Sun' has climbed 4 to No.22.

Theatrical act fun. have debuted at 29 with their single 'Some Nights', Muse's 'Madness' is at 33, and Karmin's 'Brokenhearted' has fallen 14 positions to No.39.
