VEVO names Carly Rae Jepsen's 'Call Me Maybe' most watched video of 2012

Video hosting site VEVO has crowned Canadian songstress Carly Rae Jepsen as the owner of the most watched music videos of the year.

Her breakthrough hit, 'Call Me Maybe', has attracted over 350 million views through VEVO and that impressive figure has put her in the No.1 position.

Meanwhile, Psy's viral anthem 'Gangnam Style' failed to reach the Top 10 despite accumulating over 812 million views on YouTube, which broke Justin Bieber's record of 803 million views for his chart-topping hit 'Baby'.

Following closely behind Jepsen are boyband One Direction, who scored a No.2 position with their music video for 'Live While We're Young'. The lads made headlines with the offering back in September after it managed to achieve 8.24 Million views in just 24 hours.

The full list of the most watched videos from this year is as follows:

  1. Carly Rae Jepsen - 'Call Me Maybe'
  2. One Direction - 'What Makes You Beautiful'
  3. Pitbull feat. Chris Brown - 'International Love'
  4. Jennifer Lopez feat. Pitbull - 'Dance Again'
  5. Justin Bieber - 'Boyfriend'
  6. Lil Wayne feat. Bruno Mars - 'Mirror'
  7. One Direction - 'One Thing'
  8. LMFAO - 'Party Rock Anthem'
