A juvenile has been arrested for allegedly pulling a prank on Justin Bieber that saw police turn up at his home.

A number of 'swatting' incidents have taken place this year on celebrities, with the Canadian pop star the victim of a hoax call that falsely suggested gun violence had taken place at his house - leading to police units attending the scene.

Miley Cyrus was also a victim to a similar prank earlier this year, with armed police turning up at her house.

Los Angeles Police have confirmed that a youth has been arrested in connection with swatting incidents involving Bieber and actor Ashton Kutcher. A spokesperson said:

"On December 10, 2012, Hollywood Detectives arrested a juvenile from the Southern California region for the Ashton Kutcher swatting incident, as well as a similar swatting incident that took place at the home of Justin Bieber. Other swatting incidents involving this individual have been identified."
