Rylan Clark, who rose to fame after taking part in the last season of 'The X Factor', has been crowned the winner of this year's 'Celebrity Big Brother'.

Scandal broke recently after it was revealed that he had been leaving the show to take part in rehearsals for the upcoming X Factor live tour, but he won over the British viewing public with his honesty, empathy for others and sense of humour. 

The flamboyant 24-year-old Essex boy beat the likes of Steps' Claire Richards and Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt from 'The Hills' in tonight's final (January 25), and broke down in tears following the announcement that confirmed he had won.

Speaking to host Brian Dowling, Clark explained that it had been an experience he wouldn't forget: "Honestly, through the past year, people have been picking up the phone for me and I really appreciate it. They (the public) hated me three months ago. I've been the biggest fan of Big Brother."

He also opened up about his turbulent relationship with Heidi and Spencer, adding: "'I don't have any ties to Heidi and Spencer, but they're a genuine couple. I wish them the best of luck in life. They are absolutely made for each other."
