Demi Lovato believes eating disorder could have been avoidedDemi Lovato has admitted that she might not have developed an eating disorder if more celebrities spoke out honestly about body issues. The singer has suffered a number of personal problems over recent years, including bulimia. Speaking to Cosmo on Campus, Lovato said she feels if she had a role model with an eating disorder, her troubles might not have been happened. She said: "I was about 12 or 13 when I developed my eating disorder, and at that time nobody in the public eye talked about their body issues. I feel that if someone had admitted they had a problem, then I wouldn't have gone down that route myself." Lovato added that she feels she signed up to work on the X Factor last year too quickly after leaving rehab. She said: "I dived into work really quickly and maybe that wasn't the best idea at the time, but the place I am in today is so much better than I could have ever imagined, so I'm really glad."
