The Courteeners on course for UK No.1 album with 'Anna'

Indie rockers The Courteeners are set to score their first ever UK No.1 album this coming Sunday after landing at the top spot during today's (February 6) midweek chart update.

Their new record, entitled 'Anna', shot straight into No.1 and The Official Charts Company has confirmed that it's outselling its closest competitor, which is the 'Les Misérables Cast Recording', by 2,500 copies.

Frightened Rabbit's 'Pedestrian Verse' has also made an appearance at No.7 and Eels have a new entry at 8 with 'Wonderful, Glorious'. Rapper Devlin has secured himself a No.10 position this week with his new offering, 'A Moving Picture'.

Girls Aloud beauty Kimberley Walsh has landed at a respectable 14 with her debut solo outing, 'Centre Stage', One Direction's 'Take Me Home' dropped 5 places to No.17, and Coheed and Cambria's (pictured below, bottom) stunning 'The Afterman: Descension' has charted at 37.
