Former X Factor finalist Janet Devlin performed for His Holiness the Dalai Lama this afternoon (April 18) in Northern Ireland.

The songstress was at the Children In Crossfire's 'Culture of Compassion' event, which took place today in Derry/Londonderry, and treated the spiritual icon to a rendition of Sir Elton John's 'Your Song'.

Tweeting about the experience, Devlin told her followers that she was in "shock": "What an absolute honour to meet his holiness the Dalai Lama today! In shock."

Meanwhile, she recently revealed that she will be performing later this summer at the Cambridge Folk Festival: "Pleased to announce I'll be performing in The Den at this years Cambridge Folk Festival on Friday 26th July ;)"

It was also confirmed today that the Red Hot Chili Peppers will perform for the Dalai Lama next month when he visits the American state, Oregon.
